No one is saying it is imperative. The OP asked how often we use ours. We are telling him.

there seem to be plenty of threads here where people are satisfied with "some" of those models of Chinese Junk. IIRC some of the Champion models. and the main problem or issue with them has been that they are noisier than a yamaha or honda, but at home in the garage for emergency use, what does that matter. a lot of these posts relate to at home emergencies, not on the road.
