The battery on our 6.8L V-10 is more than up to the task of charging everything, everyday. Hot water is most efficiently obtained by simply driving or from propane. :C
If you don't have to recharge your house batteries someway, you must either have hookups or drive every day or two. If you sat in one place for any length of time, normal use would run your batteries down in a few days without driving/hookups/solar/generator.
