MY 1990 the same. I had my mechanic do it at oil change time. They work on straight job trucks and are familiar with the procedure.
MY advice is the brake fluid is probably original and is long overdue for changing. So have some one bleed the lines and put in new brake fluid.
Brake fluid deteriorates over time and the boiling point gets lower and lower so that the fluid WILL boil away.
