How to Fix Windows From Rattling

The sliding picture windows in my 2000 Itasca Yellowstone Motorhome rattle as I drive down the road. What is the best way to fix these? I was thinking of buying some foam weather stripping and shoving it down in the 1/4 inch channel, but do you have a better idea? Is there a product already on the market that is designed for this?

I have visited a couple of online RV Parts companies and entered "window anti-rattle strip" into the search and it comes back no matching parts.

Could it be known as another name? Could you include a link to a website that says this little gem, the window anti-rattle strip?

Anti-rattle comes in all different shapes and sizes. You will have to do some research to determine what is appropriate for your application. It is available all over. Here is an example:

Also thanks for the idea of nylon washers. It is a good idea for a quick fix.
  • We've used vinyl washers before to "shim" it into place. It's not a perm fix but easy to install.
  • Yes, it is called an anti-rattle strip. It is essentially a "U" shaped rubber channel that goes on the edge of the window top and bottom which holds the window tight in the track. It should be available anywhere RV parts are sold, or online.
