Slides are nifty, but I do all my own maintenance on all my vehicles. For that reason, I identify need and buy to that.
I don't ever see myself buying a new RV. Now I know what to look for and someone else can take the 50% in depreciation. I would buy 5-10 years old and without slides. Ours is much older, but I LOVE the floor plan. It has a couch and removable center table, two captain chairs across from couch. The rear bed is small, but the usable floor space is a worthwhile tradeoff to me. Put a memory foam topper on that rear mattress and it's plenty comfortable.
