About the VIN number, our rig has two VIN numbers, one for the chassis and one for the conversion. Be sure to use the VIN for the chassis (the number in the windshield) for the other one is not used.
From Zigpep's description, it sounds like a minor altercation with a pole or peg of some sort. Maybe the cement base to a street light for they are often a surprise when backing up.
If the repair was done well, I would not lose any sleep over it. I would just inspect the seam work & caulk work in the area a couple times a year for a few years to make sure all stays well sealed. Also look up from below to make sure the floor is well sealed to the walls. After a few years, inspect as often as the rest of the house needs.
