"hotjag1".....not sure what chassis you have, but on my Freightliner, the leveling sensor is up high in my middle bay between the frame rails. It's about 6" long and 4" wide.
I don't think I would mess with the adjustment quite yet. It sounds like you suspect and you got wires wet. If you change the adjustment and then the wires dry out, you'll be out of whack again. I would look for connectors that were susceptible to water and clean them.
