The original motor did not have a negative terminal. So rotation was not a question when replacing. But, IF you have 2 studs on the motor, you need to make sure the rotation when connecting. Kind of hard to do. So the only way to determine is what the OP had to do, REVERSE the wires to change rotation. Power Extend and Power Retract jacks have this kind of motor. The motor reverses rotation from the switch to retract the jacks and then changes direction to extend the jacks. Doug
