I have only done South to north in a 33 ft with out towing with not much trouble but would not go longer. I also think the passenger side (cliff side) may be tough on your passenger headingSouth. I suggest camping in Monterey and doing the coast down to Big Sur in your dingy,enjoy the drive on a day trip and head back. When you travel on 101 south at San Loius Obispo head North on 1 to San Simeon and Hearst Castle then back down 1. Good travels to you.
