I think some that have replied are people who rarely take their motorhome off the interstate. There are a lot worse roads in California than Highway 1. Tioga pass is worse than 1 because not only does it have the cliffs and tight curves it adds in steep hills and a 10,000 elevation but hundreds of RV's go over it every day in the summer.
