Higher fuel prices on Highway 1? It's 150 miles from Monterey to San Luis Obispo on Highway 1. The cost of fuel is not an issue.
Also if you do the route in your motorhome it's best to do it from North to South. Most of the turnouts are on the ocean side of the road and there are plenty of places to pull over and enjoy the view.
