Also, plan your fuel. There are very fuel places that accommodate large rigs on I-70 over the mountains anymore, and the little towns have gone "Euro" with those roundabouts which altered the exits into most of the good fuel stops so you can't get in there with a rig pulling a toad. Add continuous construction, steep grades, crazy drivers, tolls, and congestion and I've grown to hate I-70, but its a necessary evil for us.
I too hate I-70. But sometimes it just has to be driven. I try and stick to HWY50 to Montrose.
Roundabouts suck.
