I-Beam Front End Suspension

Third and last try:
The problem with solid axle and leaf springs is the RV can move side to side over the axles... And if the Front moves right while the rear moves left, or the other way around, You the driver feel you are going down the road at an angle, So you compensate.. Then the ends swap and you compensate, and then the ends swap... And this goes on till you stop.

With IFS, the front axles well "half axles" are locked to the frame at the non wheel end, this can not happen.....

And with a solid axle, such as I have, and a TRACK BAR, it also can not happen.

then don't sell yours;; the 10 air bag system was a excellent invention;;
Buying a newer MH would not likely have more than 4 air bags and unless u get IFS u would hate it
trying to compare a 10 air bag solid front axle MH to a 4 air bag SFA
is not even close to a fair comparison

I have never driven a coach with IFS but I can state that my 10 airbag Beaver Marquis rides and handles like a dream. Rough roads are still rough roads but I've never had an issues with the old I-Beam suspension.

I suspect the ride and handling is very coach dependent.

With that said, if I were going to upgrade to a newer MH I wouldn't worry about the suspension configuration as long as it behaved at least as good as what I have.

I have heard and read about winni,s rough ride. one would assume a tag axle with ifs would ride like a silk pillow but they ride like straight axle gasser stone boats

For what its worth, the only DP I have test driven was a 2011 Winnebago Ellipse with the IFS and both my wife and I thought it should have ridden better. The saleman said it was because the RV was not packed, and tanks were empty. Hmmm.

Like I said your test drive was so minuscule its not a real world opinion that has any validity I have owned both types and driven both thousands of miles and the difference between the two is nite and day and for anyone to think or say the two are not is being disingenuous
