I can't figure out a beeping noise

The dishwasher was waiting for me to hit start.... it kept beeping, not every minute, but every so often. The only way to get it to stop was to run the dishwasher. All is good now.

Unfortunately, I don't have a remote for our dishwasher. I checked the manual and our model doesn't have one. BTW, does your dishwasher lock itself when you close the door? And is it hooked up to the inverter or the main power? We can't open our drawer unless we are plugged in or on generator. I can change that so the door doesn't lock, but then I'm afraid it might open when we are underway.
