We went the other way. As we drove our diesel pusher down the road we always thought about how dangerous it was, with all the heavy appliances right behind us that would come flying forward in a crash a smashing into us as we smashed into that non airbagged dash and that big bug collecting windshield.
Now,we are towing a 30 foot toyhauler with my Electra Glide in it with our newer F250 with it's big V8 diesel that pulls so easy, gets good mileage, can be serviced at thousands of Ford Dealerships, is quiet, has airbags and side curtain airbags.
so now in a collision you have an 18,000 lb projectile coming in through the back window :)
We had 5th wheels for 14 years, enjoyed them very much!
