Buy a quality used RV rather than a cheaply-built new RV. You will probably even able to get the used quality rig for less than a cheap new rig. I just traded a 2014 with 12,100 miles for a 2005 with 106,000 miles, and the difference is night and day. My 'new/old' rig is very quiet going down the road. My old/new rig was very noisy, lots of rattles and squeaks. My 2014 was $115k plus TT&L, I traded it even for the 2005, which was listed for $75,000. I could have saved a lot of money by doing it right the first time. I hear though that most people go through three RVs before they find the one that they really want/need. I am hoping since I had my other rig for 3 years that I learned enough with it that this one is the keeper.
My last rig had the Ford 6.7 diesel up front. It was silent. That wasn't the source of the noise.
