yup. look, I won't say that self-driving vehicles will never come to fruition...that would plainly be wrong. but I will say for the forseeable future there is no substitution for a thinking and alert human being behind the wheel and controlling the vehicle. the operative words in that sentence are thinking and alert.

I think you could add alert to the list. The distracted driver issue is a very real issue.
