There are several naysayers who have posted their comments above, but I say if you've got the time and are able to take matters in stride, then go for it! Other units that may be a little newer can also have problems that don't show up right away and you have to deal with them too. Many of us don't have the big pocketbook to buy something in tiptop shape, but would rather spend time trying to fix something up and hope for a little break along the way. Good luck on your project!
