I'd like some clarity on the California towing speed limit

I just got to California yesterday and noticed the signs that said vehicles towing trailers are limited to 55 mph. I wasn't sure if that applied to me towing my toad (not a trailer) but I slowed down...

You are towing so the maximum speed for you is 55 mph. You have three axles on your motorhome, according to your signature photo, so, in California, you are considered a truck and your maximum speed is 55 mph regardless of whether or not you are towing.
