If you were driving in the "left" lane while climbing, it's no wonder he shook his fist at you. Next time, please use the right lanes when climbing a hill.
Actually, I suspect you meant to say "right" climbing lane.
Based on the way he wrote this, I think he meant left lane. He appears to think he was supposed to stay in the left lane and slow down so people could pass on the right. Also if by "climbing" he meant a hill climbing lane, that is not what those lanes are on Highway 12. Those hills are more of just mounds and the passing lanes are present going up and down those mounds.
