Check on weather status and keep plenty of propane in your tank so if you have to lay up some you are prepared. Have a fiend that spent a couple of days in a rest area on I-10 in NM some years ago. Or, do not know your status but if you have time you can drop down to I-10 and take the southern route. It’s About 500 Miles farther, but I guarantee it’ll be warmer. Grew up in Illinois and if time was not an issue I would take longer and stay warmer.
