IL to Las Vegas,NV

You haven't said yet whether you're in a hurry. Weather tends to make us slow down a bit. I'd take the southern route, I-10 and enjoy the trip. I-40 may be shorter but is it worth it to worry constantly for the next two or three days? Not for me....Whichever you choose, be safe....Dennis
