I think a lot depends on where and how your coach is stored. If it is stored in a barn, or other place where rodents can get to it, I would recommend starting it, and inspecting it, every few weeks.
If you watch any TV shows about vehicles that have sat for any length of time, you will see many instances of rodent infestation, especially in exhaust systems. Regular starting the engine and an inspection of the entire coach can minimize the very expensive damage that could be done.
Obviously driving the coach on a regular basis has it's advantages, but just running the engine/generator, does not harm them if they are brought up to normal operating temperature before you shut them down.
There is a reason why emergency generators are automatically "exercised" on a regular basis.
