No real need to run engine or gen while it is just sitting BUT there is a need to keep the batteries charged.
If you are parked in a campground that has power, just plug it in for 24 hours once a month.....and close the battery switches to charge.
If you don't have access to shore power, then run engine AND gen once a month for at least a half hour to get up near normal operating temperature AND to charge the batteries. Operate the disconnect switches when done.
While the engine is running, move it 12 inches to help prevent flat spots on the tires.
