Inflating tires after being in storage

Hello. Just read an article on this site about checking the air pressure in all tires after they have been in storage; before taking a trip and at fuel stops. So my tires need about 110 psi and was wondering what air pressure machine I can purchase to fill up the tires assuming they are low and be able to carry such machine in the RV? I live in Ontario Canada so possibly an item to purchase in Ontario. Thank you in advance.

  • porta cable pancake compressor,150psi,got mine on sale at Lowes $90.00
  • I carry a flat Dewalt compressor that takes up very little room in the basement and the design allows me to store other things on top of it. I keep it in the basement compartment that has an outlet so all I have to do is plug it in to inflate my tires. This one has a max pressure of 135 psi. DeWalt compressor

Your 96 Dynasty has a air compressor capable of putting 110 psi in your tires. There should be a air outlet under the front bumper on the right side. Buy a air hose, air chuck that will hold it's self on, and a quick connect.
  • I have small sears and roebuck craftsman compressor that works. 120 volt 135 psi output. I carry it in motorhome all the time. I either plug into shore power or run generator and plug into 120 outlet on coach.I need 110 psi as well. If tires are over 65 psi, low pressure switch will not kick on on compressor . I have a clamp on air chuck that clamps onto the valve stem. Before I connect chuck to valve stem I let air out of air chuck until compressor kicks on then clamp chuck on the tire valve stem and air it up. I need 110 psi in tires as well. Works pretty good for a small compressor. I have aired up all 6 tires after coach has been sitting no problems. The tires were not flat but they were low on pressure. My tire size is 19.5 " I do not see why it wouldn't work on bigger tires.
  • I purchased a pancake compressor from our local hardware store that can produce 150 PSI. It has worked great filling up our tires that need 110 lbs. or so. It's not that heavy and I use it for the toad too. I've had this compressor for 8 or 9 yrs.

I could also use the on-board compressor but it would need a 'doubler' to work faster which runs about $250 from what I understand.

  • You do not indicate what kind of RV you have. If it is a diesel powered unit with air brakes, you should be able to use your vehicle air system to supply the required air pressure to service the tires.
