Also keep in mind, that outside storage may allow critters (mice) to get into the engine compartment and cause havoc on wires, build nests, etc.
I keep glue traps at the small crevices at the garage door and spray bug killer around the perimeter inside the garage monthly. Glue traps will give you and idea of what comes in whether it be roaches, spiders, lizards, mice, etc. Normally, we have nothing on the traps for months and months, then bingo, a mouse.
