Three Norcolds in 11 years is nothing special. They usually take 5-6 years before they go tits up. I always laugh when someone tells how great their Norcold worked. I guess the other 100000 people were just making up the story about how poorly they cooled, caught fire and broke down!!!!
Even if they made a Norcold dual fill that worked perfectly, they still can't match the performance of a residential refer, unless you don't mind your food being luke warm.
why is it when someone hates a product like you do they feel its their right to disparage people whom have no dislikes about the same product? I too laugh at people like you.If you dislike something then everyone should?? FO and YES my Norcold of 7 years worked great and cooled as good as my current res fridge - DSDP_DonExplorerThree Norcolds in 11 years is nothing special. I have owned 3 norcold 1200/10 series over 11 years and all always worked 100% and flawless so to each for their own reasons - IvylogExplorer IIIUpdate: After a two month trip out west this summer boondocking aprox half the time I would recommend two batteries to power it as my house batteries need charging every 24 hours. It took close to 48 hours before I would have to charge the refer batteries which means the duty cycle is less than 40 percent. I would let the ice maker harvest ice when on shore or generator power... not inverter.
It's very nice to not have to constantly monitor the refer temps like I had to do with my NoCold 1200.:B I did have to glue the child safety locks on better than just the peal and stick that came on them. - IvylogExplorer IIITwofold, makes it easier for me to find the original post under Class A projects when residential comes up as I have several DIY projects posted and I often get follow up questions (some PMs) and before answering I often have to look at this post for the answer as unlike you'll they did not read to the end of the post or I have forgotten some of the details.
Thanks for reading to the end and I should probably add that two batteries just for the refer should be enough even if you are into boondocking. - gmctoymanExplorerCause ?
