Jumping from carrier to carrier may be good for some, but it's not always the smartest thing to do. If you don't have any claims you're fine, but when one day you do have that big accident, one thing an insurance company will do is look at how long you've been with them. If they see your history of jumping around there's a good chance they won't allow you to renew with them. On the other hand if you've been with the company for 10 years, then having a big claim won't have as much impact on your future insurance policies. And once a company denies you insurance, good luck finding coverage. I would never switch unless I was convinced the savings were significant, and that it wasn't a bait and switch like somebody described above.
