That may or may not be the standard they will use. If they determine the value is more than the repair costs, then it is considered totaled. The value is the fair market value. Assuming you paid fair market value for the motorhome, then yes that's a good place to start. In the event they agree to your price then they give you that price and you turn the motorhome over to them and they sell it at auction for parts. If you want to keep the motorhome, then they will estimate what the salvage value would have been, and deduct that from the value you guys agreed to, and that is your settlement.
