I don't really see much potential for fraud here.
If this were an insurance fraud scenario, the OP would have claimed they were in the RV when it was hit and now has soft-tissue damage, whiplash, PTSD and lost some teeth and toenails. (NOT trying to give you any ideas there, OP!)
The OP is going to handle this in the best way he or she can. All we can do is make suggestions, give our insights and opnions and not get offended (too much) when another route is taken.
