Insurance

i,am thinking about changing insurance companies . Does anybody have Allstate insurance coverage for their Motorhome? What is your opinion of their coverage good or bad.

  • I think it's all about price with insurance companies these days and it seems that you have to shop around every few years for the best price. Most pay for claims without incident and it's pretty hare for them to get away with not doing do.
Right now, we're with State Farm and will probably do some price comparing next year and before the premiums are due. These companies like many others, seem to always offer better incentives to new customers.
  • I switched from Allstate to Progressive for our motorhome insurance several years ago. Progressive gave me better coverage at about half the price. Our cars and cottage are still insured with Allstate though, since the price difference was very small and Progressive would not bundle our cottage with the cars.
  • Progressive has RV specific insurance---had it 5 years 2 claims 1 windshield and 1 awning. No rate increase.
  • I just gotta put in a plug for Geico,,I have two cars and an 11 year old M.H. insured for $110 Per month.. No claims yet, but my son just had a car totaled by an uninsured driver, they paid very well and very fast.
  • I had them decades ago for car insurance and had a problem, but that probably is irrelevant now.

However, they use misleading advertising for car insurance which would make me stay away.
  • So far so good. One accident where a bus ran into my MH. No questions or problems they just sent a check to cover the estimate given by the body shop.
