- wallynmExplorerWe have State Farm and have been very pleased, however they do not offer replacement insurance. Replacement insurance is really a good insurance policy and always cost more than straight depreciated value insurance. Faster depreciation = more gap insurance and more cost
- bullydogs1ExplorerI went with Blue Sky when Progressive tried to double my rate after we moved..no claims or accidents at all, I was told that's the way it is..I told Flo to take a hike...great company with a reasonable rate and I had a claim that was my own fault...they took care of it and made sure I was happy with the service they provided...owned by BlueCross/BlueShield.
- Mremdal33ExplorerWe just decided after an exhaustive search to go with National General (Formerly GMAC). Anyone know what prompted the name change?
If anyone is still looking we found this article helpful for getting a list rv insurance companies to contact. Also the different rv insurance agencies around. - LVJ58ExplorerForemost--Parent company Farmers
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIINational Interstate...specialize in RV ins.
Replacement/agreed upon valve/full timers coverage/personal items/custom items etc.
And great customer service.
We have had two claims..one minor/one MAJOR. Both handled quickly, efficiently, no hassles......followed up and no rate increases.
PLUS they were lower priced than others that provided the type/benefits of coverage WE wanted - mscampingExplorerFarm & City in Forest City Iowa.. They have different companies they write for.. We have Allied and Nationwide, for the house, car and Rv.. They are great to deal with and they will take care of you.. Mike Mathews..
- BFulcherExplorerThe Good Sam Insurance Agency represents most of the insurance companies that specialize in RV insurance. Companies like State Farm do not offer replacement coverage for RVs. Call 888-772-1175 and they can compare rates and coverages for several companies.

- stein4ExplorerUSAA doesn't provide RV insurance - they partner with Progressive. I have USAA for cars and Progressive for RV and dualSport.
Not real happy with Progressive - had a break in over the summer while at Hollister SVRA in Northern CA. Lost roughly $6K in computers and kids high school band instruments (ther mom makes up practice even while camping.. well use to). Looks like they came through the window over the kitchen. There was no damage so Progressive denied the claim. I know the window was closed but probably not latched properly. My fault? Maybe? Still a hard pill to swallow.
Should add: claims adjuster was real nice at first, even received a hand written letter saying how sorry she was that this happened. Few days later I received a voice mail that my claim was denied. Called back and left a msg - never heard back. Sent an email - still have not heard back. - FishinghatExplorer IIState Farm is the largest P&C company, so they are probably large enough to give you the type of policy you are looking for. USAA is the highest rated (behind State Farm) but you have to be an active or retired military officer to qualify and they act only as agents for another writer on RVs. Still, their rates are very good.
A local or regional company may offer even better rates. Go to several independent agents and get quotes. (Not a captive agent like Farmers or Allstate, although some people have had good luck with those companies.)
