Do you have personal property coverage on your policy? Insurance policies all spell out exactly what they will and won't cover. My motorhome policy does not cover personal property within the motorhome. Sounds like yours did not either.
On Edit: I correct my above statement. I do have personal effects coverage with a $2000 limit. It is not replacement cost coverage, but depreciated value. Per the Progressive website you can purchase personal effects coverage up to $99,000.
