There is no real need to go up in inverter size because of the refer. Depending on the brand of refer will determine whether you need a sine wave or if a modified will work. Samsung can run on a modified no problems.
I think the price difference is worth it. Your microwave won't groan like it does with a modified. All your wall warts will be happier also.
