Is it just me...probably!

Well said "2 Gypsies"....I agree totally! The idea that the same question is asked again and again has never bothered me at all besides, things change over time, new solutions are thought of, new gadgets are added....all in all, I have nothing but time on my hands when browsing these here Forums. :)

Since we no longer full-time I don't have a need for maintenance issues, etc. However, I absolutely loved to plan out places to go and in 16 years of full-timing we've gone to most and many times, more than once. We loved mountain driving and backcountry scenery. Therefore, most of my post interests are regarding travel. I'm hoping that I can help someone with their questions.

As far as repeat questions - they don't bother me a bit. First, the Search feature is terrible and it involves a LOT of reading stuff that you're not interested in.

Secondly, with every post there are new folks who contribute their views and something new always pops up.

Lastly, we were all beginners. We all had the exact questions. Those that answered mine were surely appreciated.

As an retiree, I have more free time and I consider these forums just another hobby. It's a learning experience for many. It sure beats Facebook, Twitter, etc. I don't watch television so this fills in some of my free time.

I remember the "good old days" when a WalMart thread generated 10 pages of "stuff"...now it's tires tires tires....guess I'm 'tired' or re-tired or something..:W..Dennis

I try to go through the new Class A posts daily.

I check in almost everyday but no longer read all post only those that look interesting to me.

I don't post near as much since majority never come back and tell the resolution.

I do enjoy the forum and have learned a lot over the years.

I'm not a big reader of books or magazines, but I think reading and writing everyday wards off Alzheimers. So my choice for reading and writing is this and another forum. I have a routine, I open this forum, read the Class A stuff, move onto the General RVing and then end by reading the Beginning RVing. I move over to the other Forum and do the same thing. This usually occupies a couple of hours in the evening while we watch TV.

I do all of my own maintenance, love to fabricate both in wood and especially metal and often add or revamp things on my coach to make it better or easier to use. On the other large RV forum, I often post things that I do, such as an in depth description of adding a residential refer, pulling the rear radiator on a Monaco coach or a shortcut to awning topper installs. Over the years, I find that people are still using my "How To" posts. With that said, I NEVER post that information here. No matter how helpful it can be, this website never lets a post go unpunished! :( There's always some guy that will tell you that his 1962 Johnson Speed Special motor home doesn't work that way and you're wrong. :S

I think we would see many more posts with helpful, diverse and useful information if you didn't always get beat up.

I'll admit I'm getting older, have no use for stupid people and when my back is aggravating me I can get snarky, but usually not until after I've been flamed for something stupid.

I read this forum most every day although I skip a lot of the posts that have asked and answered too many times. It may be that people do not know how to search the forums. I have gotten a lot of questions answered just by using the search feature. I think if I see one more "Gas vs Diesel" post, I will cry.;)

I also agree that I wish people would use more descriptive subjects for the posts. A subject like "Help" is not very enlightening. I will post when I think I may have something useful to add to the conversation.

I just wish posters would be descriptive in the topic. "Help" is troublesome as I have to open the topic. Especially if I am trying to stay current by using my phone to read them.

You seem pretty normal. Everything is fun when it's new and exciting. Now that you know everything you need to know (notice I didn't say you're a know it all?) it's not as interesting for you.

I'm a "seasonal" reader - when we're at the S&B there's more time to look at posts. And It's a good way to avoid the "Honey Do" list. (Down to 8 highly-avoidable projects as of right now! :) )

Like, The Biscuit, I go to myposts to see if anyone has had anything interesting to add on whatever the subject was. Then on to new posts that have interesting topics. I don't bother with ATC anymore (didn't know it still exists).

I don't really mind repeats of questions asked and answered (except for the ones obviously posted by trolls asking about guns and toilet paper.)

If/when I have a question, I post it. It's great to get opinions and insights of others. (The snarking I could do without though.)

I rarely read or post :B




Well OK.....

I read 'My Posts' first to see if I have gotten any snarky remarks, have questions asked responded to/answered, if issue/problem solved etc.
Then I read 'Newest' posts........glance at some, read some, respond to some.
Then I go to 'ATC' and see if any of my posts in that section survived....have a very low survival rate/very high 'editing rate'.

Then it's off to do whatever chores/errands.

Later in evening I repeat.

I don't get tired of repeat posts........the search engine on here takes a bit of manipulating so I understand why it is not used especially by newbies.
And even if a topic has been beat to death it can still be useful----even if just to whack the dead horse one more time
