I have seen bad things about the ACE, but I don't know that all that I heard was due to MH. I believe a lot may be due to the person buying it. That being said ACE is entry level gas by Thor, I bought a 38ft top of line GAS by Forest River of the same year for $78K. I will say I had been looking for several months and almost bought a Thor but the inspection I hired showed several lack of regular maintenance issues and I passed. I had RVT and RVTrader set up to send me notices of new ads for the floorplans I was interested in and contacted the seller with an offer (contingent on inspection) within hours of their ad being posted. It was a week before I could go look at it, and put a deposit at that time.
