I've got two rv's, a 40 ft diesel funmover and a coachmen B on a gmc/chevy chassis. Mine is a 98 with the 5.7l or 350. I bought it wit 30k on the clock, has a shower , bathroom stove heat all the jazz, I paid 11k.
I'm a rider, mostly dirt bikes. My dog will happily stay in the van while we ride. She just sleeps. She's fine 89's, low 90's heat wise but she isn't a Husky or any such. She's used to running in the heat very rare will I plug into campground hook up in the van. Usually we camp remote. If hotter, only with ac. I try not to go when too hot, no fun to ride either and the van ac is loud.
No troubles with the van chassis. Easy to service, kiss, keep it simple stupid. That new stuff, may get better mileage but harder to fix. Difference in price buys a lot of gas.
