You almost have to think it is four wheels down towing related... I've never owned an automatic transmission Jeep but always had the manual transmission with transfer case that can disable the front and rear drive shafts...
Used to pull one of those alot in the past...
I just noticed they have a second photo in the article showing the fireman hosing down the Jeep engine area. Could of even been a blown tire catching fire...
They probably didn't even know it was on fire until someone got their attention... That a long back back behind a motorhome...
