I work real hard here to keep my TRUCK START battery isolated from regular trailer power drains...
Was always taught this from many days back to not connect any trailer items to the truck battery system. This is my only way to get back home haha...
I will occasionally kick in something using the the truck battery system but I'm always aware of it.

The Trik-L-Start has a diode in it to prevent the chassis battery's power being drawn back into the MH.

Once again I just don't get it. :h I think a lot of folks are searching for a solution for which there is no known problem. :?
How can keeping your starting battery charged be a problem? Unless you have a failure of the engines charging system a starting battery can sit for weeks without losing its ability to start the engine. Drive a few miles and you are back to square one. Even if the starting battery did die, say you left your headlights on, most motorhomes come with an emergency start switch that allows you to tap into the house bank to boost the starting battery back into full operation.
With a Class C I don't see most folks sitting for extended periods of time (it's not the preferred coach of the snowbird crowd), even if you do, how hard is it to light off the engine once a week and just let it idle (and no I don't recommend this for diesels). I'm sure these are fine products and work as advertised but what/where is the problem they solve? :S
I killed my starting battery. For the first 3 years I owned my MH, I parked it over the winter not plugged in. I disconnected the house batteries with the disconnect switch, but the chassis battery ran down every winter. When it died, I replaced it and installed a Trik-L-Start. I also replaced the Parallax 7345 charger with a Progressive Dynamics 4655 charger and started keeping the MH plugged in all winter. Never had a battery go down in the 4 years since.
