I wish I could say what Dance chick said.....
When we changed ours out, I ordered an extra set of hinge plates. As it was reversible door (most are) all I had to do was A: Make pins to fit - No big deal and B: make a block that pins store in when we are parked.
This is easy and inexpensive and during the check for getting underway we just check that the pins aren't in the block.
