Keyless Entry

I started process by unlocking via the door switch.

One trick I had... make sure the doors are unlocked. If the doors are locked, the rig won't go into programming mode.

If your Ford rig is setup for keyless entry, The Receiver Will Be Located in the passenger foot well, to the right and above the passenger right foot against the outside wall. It's a plastic box with wires connected on one end. I verified this with my 2007 service manual.

Our 2007 E350 is not setup for keyless entry. We don't even have a wire harness connector there to plug in a keyless entry receiver. I thought maybe I'd get one from a junk yard, but there is no place to connect to.

Of coarse I wished we had keyless entry, but I do wonder how my RV key ring (and my pants pocket) would handle a fob along with so many keys. :)

Yep, thankfully fobs were cheap.

Look on the door frame for the house door. Are there 2 contacts in a black plastic piece? If yes (mine had them but they didn't work) take out the screws holding it to the MH door frame. When you take it off, you will probably see 2 wires with slip-on clips pushed back into the door frame. Use needle nose pliers to pull them out and push them onto the screws on the back of the contacts. It should work now. My Winnebago had them, but no one had ever put the wires on the contact plate. I don't know if polarity matters. If so, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time. Mine worked right the first time. BTW, the electric lock doesn't do the deadbolt lock.

Apparently, Ford didn't put the radio receiver in all the chassis they sold. I bet the RV manufacturer had to order it at extra cost. I bought 2 fobs also that won't work because my MH also doesn't have the radio receiver installed. Oh well, I guess $18 won't break me. If I ever have another Ford truck, I will have spares.

Does anyone know why this doesn't work with some vehicles?

Bought 2 remotes but, after 6 attempts. can't seem to get my 2011 E450 into programming mode. Followed instructions that came with remotes and the manual but lock don't cycle after 8 "on-offs".
