Kwikee steps are NOT troublesome beasts. What they are is simple- a GREAT entry step that will function for years as long as you keep them clean and lube the pivot points. Just do that and you will never have problems. Doug

My post provided more information to help the OP. Your's repeated what four others have said. Glad yours worked just fine. Mine would come in and lock over the cam. Unfortunately, the lock stop was too far past 90 degrees, and the motor could not push past the pressure point to release. After I partially released the whole thing from the frame of the rig, I realized they worked just fine. They required remounting so the pressure to open past latched wasn't so strong.

I do NOT own a Motorhome or have a Kwikee step. What I DO HAVE, is 36 years of working on motorhomes and 36 years of repairing Steps, Kwikee and a multitude of others over the years. MY post was from years of experience, and the most COMMON cause of failure of Kwikee parts is the lack of keeping debris off the linkages and lubing the pivot points. Having a lock cam not adjusted correctly is so rare it is rarely a problem. It is almost impossible for a lock cam to get out of adjustment once the step is built. Doug
