Just to make you feel better: Our stick house has a 4 burner gas stove top. The two right burners can be replaced with a grill. After we bought a large BQ for the patio we realised that we never used the stove grill so put the the two burners back.
Since we almost never use more than two burners, at a time we have large thick maple cutting cutting board over the two right hand burners. See it coming?
We now have two lovely black patterns on the under side of the cutting board.
