A 50 watt LED is well over 4000 lumens. That would be unusable. I have a 10 watt flashlight that when ever I use it for close work, I have to turn it down, because otherwise the reflected light off what I am working on is so bright, it pains my eyes. The lumen rating on LEDs is difficult to compare because the light is much more focused. This means the light directly in front of the LED is brighter, where an incandescent is dispersed so that some of the light is wasted. I would recommend looking for a multi- LED bulb somewhere between 8 to 12 watts. Multiple LEDs tend to disperse the light a little better. I would also recommend paying close attension to the Kelvin. Do not go any higher than 3K, otherwise the light will look blue. 2700 Kelvin is just a hair more white than conventional bulbs.
