Leisure Travel Free Flight in So Cal?

So far, I've narrowed down my potential models to the Pleasure-Way Lexor TD and the Leisure Travel Free Flight with twin beds, both Chevy-based. I've been able to go inside the Lexor TD, but I haven't been able to locate a Leisure Travel Free Flight to visit. If anyone knows of one or has one within reasonable driving distance from Ventura County, would you please let me know? It's one thing to stare at a floor plan and imagine what it looks like, and another to walk through it.

Also, if anyone is familiar with both models, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on the comparison. It appears that the bathroom on the LT has a tad more room because of the smaller sink, but again, that's on a computer screen, not actual experience. Why did you pick either the TD or the FF? I value your thoughts.

I saw that, ghor. When I posted on the general part of this forum on bringing a vehicle into California and getting it registered with the DMV, I got a lot of discouraging comments and pm. Apparently, even though the Chevy is built for the States, California can be very sticky about approving it due to air pollution and other regulations. I'd love to go to BC, I hear it is lovely. You are wise to be very careful purchasing a RV that is not certified to meet California emissions standards with a sticker. Here is an old topic HELP! California DMV diesel registration issue Lee Caldwell wound up having to return the unit to the dealer.

  • There are a few Free Flights for sale in British Columbia, Canada on autotrader.ca. May be a bit far for you to travel to, however there are a few around for sale. Good luck on your hunt. A first class unit.

  • Consider a Roadtrek 210. It is on a Chevy-based chassis and has the interior space as it is about 22 ft and, it has a decent bathroom.I had considered a 210 as it had the bathroom we like and good quality interior. There a few around. You might get a Free Flight meanwhile although they are scarce in Canada too. Good hunting.

  • You're right, fastpaddler, the Lexor bath is narrow. I am looking for a Chevy-based rather than a diesel B. Although, I may have to widen my search because the Free Flight, which is my present favorite, is so difficult to find. Plus, it's not made any more (I think 2012 was the last year), so a dealer won't be able to bring one in.

Please, everybody, could you keep your eyes out for a gently Leisure Travel Van Free Flight with twin beds somewhere between 2006-2010 or so?

Also, I found that there is Leisure Travel Vans owner's group, but the folks listed on the website haven't responded to my e-mail. The website info seems to be several years old, so those folks may have turned the leadership over to someone else. Can someone help me to contact the group? Owner's groups sometimes have knowledge of units that need new homes.

I have a trip planned in October up the back side of the Sierras to Reno, and I'd sure like to be seeing the fall colors from my "new" B!
  • From my earlier research on B vans,in particular the size of bathrooms, I noted that the LT Free Spirit was similar to my Pleasureway Plateau TS(I bought last year) but the Lexor model has a narrower and tighter space for anybody my size ie 6ft 1ins 190 lbs. In the Sprinter line, with diesel power, the LT,GWV and PW Sprinters all have decent bathrooms. My preferance between the two you are looking at would be the Free Spirit. Check a few of each type on net. The LT products are built in Canada with most going Stateside.Hope that helps a little.
You could go to the LeisureTravel website and ask for a dealer in SoCal who might have one for you to check out.

  • Yes, outdoorlovers, I've been there and seen their Lexor TD. I really like this model.

It's the Leisure Travel Free Flight which I haven't been able to locate. That model is similar to the Lexor Td. I'm wondering which has more room in the bathroom. I'd really like to walk through the Free Flight, I just can't find one that isn't over a thousand miles away.

Surely someone knows someone who knows someone who has a Leisure Travel Free Flight somewhere in So Cal!
  • That would be nice.

I've found a couple in British Columbia, and one in Florida. They're not very common, apparently. I've checked rvt, rvtrader, craigslist, and ppl. I've tried googling directly and many of those listings are older and already sold.

Does anybody have any other sources?
  • go to google type in the one you want ,like leisure travel van for sale, in your area see whats there.
