Leisure travel van anniversary edition

I have just purchased the Leisure Travel Van Freedom 2A, Anniversary edition. This has a little shower outside the cold side of which is connected to the drain valve of the fresh water tank. The pipe from the tank to the shower goes up at least 6 inches so just opening the shower on the ground does not empty the last 6 inches from the tank.
Any ideas
  • we,ve had our LTV freedom serenty II since new in 2007 ,and still love it, just got back from a 1600 mile trip ,no problems, we have the last of the 5 cyc engines round trip avg was 19.8 it tickles me to climb a mountain and pass those fuel hogs, with V 10, and big diesels.
  • Are you concerned about emptying the last bit during winter storage?
We have a Freedom 2A as well, and when we empty tanks and are concerned about left over water in the system, we run the pump with taps open until no more water spurts out, and if worried about freezing, we blow out the water lines with about 40 psi air.
If just refilling with fresh water,we don't worry if there is a little left from last camping trip. We sterilize our tanks once a year anyway, so they are always clean.
Have not had a problem with this method for 7 years.

  • Further to my last post, there is a drain plug under the vans water tank to drain the tank. You may have to get down on your hands and knees to find it. That should empty the water tank completely.
  • qhor's post sparked a faint memory. IIRC, my first B, a '99/'00 Roadtrek Dodge with the tank under the floor, required taking the pump suction strainer fitting out of the tank. That was at the low corner on the tank, where the suction was attached.
