You are correct (as usual). To get a transmission sample they'll need a hand operated vacuum pump and tubing to suck the fluid out of the sump through the fill (dipstick) tube.
Also, they'll need an Oil Analysis Kit that includes "Particle Count" and "ISO Cleanliness Code" to extend filter change intervals since this will give you information on the number of particles and teh sizes of particles that are in the system.
