I did own several sizes and I was driving 40-footers on the road where others were scared to drive 32-footers, so it depends on driving skill a lot.
Biggest problem with big coaches are overhangs, what limits turning into steep roads and gearing, that will not pull the coach into some spots.
That said I did own 1980's era Pace Arrow, that converted to diesel had gear vendor. That thing being 27' long with high suspension and incredible gearing took me to spots where cars could not make.
Right now, when kids left the house, I enjoy taking wife and dogs in truck camper, while 40' bus stays in storage.
No motorhome will beat TC in mobility, not to mention that my pickup has more HP than vintage 15 tons bus.
