There are reasons why they are most popular base for a Class B and C in Europe. - mlts22ExplorerI was surprised how few horror stories I read about the Ducatos in Europe. Yes, one does read some, but it isn't as much as I thought there would be. I wouldn't let the rebadge put one off.
If one is in no hurry to buy a motorhome, it will become very interesting this summer once the diesel ProMasters start rolling out to face off against the Transits from the KC plant. Transits will be the real competition, because Ford tends to be very good with fleet sales. - RobertRyanExplorer

- FastpaddlerExplorerDodge Promaster aka Fiat Ducato.FWD(Groan).I see the move to attracting a wider audience that is, client base of maybe small families, whereas, the 2 beds conversion up front and Murhpy-type fold-down bed at the rear plus a functional bathroom and some cupboard space for more storage is a big attraction. Actually, the rear sleeping system is more for a single person as two would be sandwiched. But, it could work in a pinch. I refer to the current offering but other configurations should follow and I havent seen David`s GWV effort yet. GWV certainly have produced quality products. The Sprinter chassis, luxuriously converted with real wood and so on has price-escalated too much, whereas the Promaster with a good drivetrain might be a better combination for custom converters. Without the need of a dualie system back there, I might be one of the converted. And a diesel offering is imminent.
- My_RoadtrekExplorerThe thread said David (the owner of GTWV) and his family are driving it to the Tampa show.

Great West Vans will have one at the FL. Super Show. I heard 20' in length, and 17 mpg. Got this from a thread at Markos Class B forum.
I just checked their website and while they have added a new tab, there is nothing up yet. Perhaps with or soon after the Super Show. - mlts22ExplorerSportsmobile is upfitting a ProMaster this month. Even more interesting, they will have both gasser PM upfits, as well as diesel models available once they ship (probably summer), the diesel models having a Powertech generator for an option.
Since ProMasters are wider (80.7 inches) than either a Transit or a Sprinter, they allow for people to be able to sleep transversely. This won't work for taller people, but for people shorter than six feet, it might just do the trick. - My_RoadtrekExplorerGreat West Vans will have one at the FL. Super Show.
