Leveling Jacks

Rookie RVer :C here! Is there any maintenance required / suggested for leveling jacks? I believe they are hydrolic.....

  • Some have zerc grease fittings on the fixed part of each jack and some do not. Check yours and include in the routine lube service.
  • Just had 3 of mine rebuilt (ouch$) for my maiden trip to the south.

    And when the alarm goes off, without good reason and won't go off, try adding a little DEXTRON III fluid, to the reservoir.
  • Not a whole lot. Maybe a drain a refill every 10 year or so of the fluid tank, annual visual inspection of the fittings and hoses for leaks or blisters. I cycle them to full extension monthly during the winter layup when I run the generator.
  • Check fluid level with levelers RETRACTED, then as above extend levelers and wipe down with WD40 to get them clean. No need really for lubricant, just need to be clean.
  • Keep the piston clean. What every fluid in the system , wipe down the piston every so often and cycle and wipe off excess.
